Tubbs has been a lover of good music ever since the midwife cut the chord. His love of music led him to the drums at the age of 16 and playing in local funk bands in Cardiff.
In the early nineties Tubbs began DJing at a friend’s party due to a DJ no-show, playing from his personal collection. Needless to say he went down a storm and decided to take it more seriously.
Being a 60’s child, he believes he was born in the right era to witness the evolution of all genres of music from rare groove to rock, from disco to house music, from drum & bass to p-funk. In general he loves all music except country and western and gabba techno!
Tubbs has played at most of the dance venues in Wales, previous bookings including: Escape in the Park, Compass Point Urban Music Festival, Emporium, Poo Na Na, and Lamerica.
As well as DJing Tubbs’ main passion is radio, radio, radio. He had his first taste as a presenter for Cardiff’s Bay FM back in ’94, and quickly moved on to co-presenting the peaktime BBC Radio Wales dance music programme “The Club” for three years. He then moved onto managing the RSL station Beats FM, for two consecutive years. Tubbs is now the station manager of Radio Cardiff.
Likes: Football, Good humour and soul food.
Dislikes: Big Brother, Pop Idol and any other ‘I wanna be a star’ nonsense!
