Kallista Profile

Cardiff boy born in the 80’s. Brought up in and around reggae, his father being a huge music lover from Jamaica there was music all around, how could he not be influenced?

Kallista discovered the rave scene first and quickly moved on to Jungle Techno in the early years and has stayed with the music, which is now known as Drum & Bass.

As a little guy and anxious to start playing at about the age of 13, after seeing for the first time DJ G Sharp AKA Jackal and Hyde, Kallista knew that was what he wanted to do.

Kallista was told by his good friend FAB that as soon as he was 5ft 4 he could have a go on his decks, this encouraged Kallista to go out there and buy his own decks, the start of a very long love affair with his music.

Kallista officially formed in 2003 a parting with long standing friends and collaborators he marched to the beat of his own drum. Forming his own Next Level Drum & Bass show in Newport, Urban Circle now known as Newport City Radio FM.

Ever evolving through the scene Kallista brought himself back home to Radio Cardiff, to the Next Level, now you can catch him Live every Monday night from 10pm-12 midnight, catch all the latest tunes and hear all the great interviews with who’s who on the D&B Scene.
