Gospel Raph’s parents came to Britain in 1952 the First West Indian Missionaries to open a Pentecostal church in Birmingham and Wales. They were the 1st Pentacostal Preacher’s in Wales and the church was full of Holy Ghost Fire.
When similar immigrants left Jamaica and came to Britain the Martin Family House on Fitzhamon Embankment was the first stop for many of them. The 13 children are all truly talented which is a great testimony to God answering their loving, devoted mother’s prayers. Many of the children have highly achieved in the music and teaching industry we have even produced the first black published hymn writer.
Gospel Raph spent many years has a boxer he turned professional under the guidance of Frank Warren then went on to being Barry McGuigan’s sparring partner for his last fight in London
He had a personal encounter with God when he devoted his life to a Christian relationship to God at the age of 28 years. Over the next few years he graduated with a BEng and a PGCE in teaching Design & Technology in the University of Wales. In 2007 The Sports Council of Wales honoured him with the most inspirational adult learning award for Wales having studied in Barry College in Health& Fitness.
He spent 18 month working at the Beacon Centre in St Mellon’s as Youth Manager the centre the staff recognised a drastic change in the youth crime was almost non existent and the parents were grateful that more respect towards themselves and staff workers at the centre was sown.
Presenting The Voice of God on the airways is truly an excellent tool at reaching the isolated housebound disabled and prisoners. One listener in Park Prison gave his life to God listening to the show. The show is proving to be a way of introducing people from different walks of life involved in different ministries to listeners of Radio Cardiff.
Music ranges from Traditional styles of gospel ranging from country, jazz, blue grass and praise & worship in the first hour. The second hour starts with soul r&b, youth music, reggae and an eclectic session. Gospel Raph hopes & prays that the show reaches & touches the lives of all listeners in a positive & encouraging also uplifting way.
